Load and Stress Testing Specialist for Bus Ticketing System

Project Overview
We are seeking an experienced Load and Stress Testing Specialist to assess and validate the performance, scalability, and resilience of a supplier-hosted ticketing system. The objective is to ensure optimal performance under expected peak loads and extreme stress conditions, while identifying bottlenecks, failure points, and improvement areas.

Key Responsibilities
1. Load Testing
- Design and execute load testing scenarios simulating high concurrent user traffic.
- Validate system performance against defined SLAs (response times, throughput, latency).
- Identify bottlenecks across application, API, database, and infrastructure layers.
- Provide detailed performance reports with actionable recommendations.

2. Stress Testing
- Execute stress testing to determine system limits under extreme conditions.
- Identify breaking points and evaluate system recovery behavior.
- Assess failover, autoscaling, and degradation mechanisms.
- Document resilience gaps and mitigation strategies.

3. Performance Analysis & Reporting
Provide:
- Test strategy document
- Test scripts and scenarios
- Monitoring dashboards (if applicable)
- Bottleneck analysis
- Remediation recommendations
- Final executive-level summary report

Scope of Services
The freelancer will be expected to:
- Review system architecture (application, APIs, database, infrastructure)
- Define realistic traffic models (peak, burst, sustained load)
- Simulate concurrent users across key workflows (e.g., ticket booking, checkout, payment)
- Use industry-standard performance testing tools
- Monitor CPU, memory, DB performance, thread pools, network latency
- Deliver performance benchmarking results
- Provide recommendations for scalability and optimisation

Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience in load & stress testing large-scale web applications

Experience with tools such as:
JMeter, Gatling, k6, LoadRunner, Locust, BlazeMeter

Experience testing:
- High-traffic transactional systems
- Ticketing or e-commerce platforms (preferred)
- Strong understanding of
- API performance testing
- Database performance tuning
- Cloud infrastructure (AWS / Azure / GCP)
- Autoscaling and high-availability environments
- Ability to produce structured technical documentation
