jQuery Expert Needed
Budget: $2 – $8 USD
We have a legacy embedded device with 2009-era jQuery 1.3.2/xml2json/SizzleJS with some XHR requests performed via its own bare-bones webserver (not Apache/nginx/etc).
We need to gently modernise the underlying JavaScript/HTML/CSS into the 2020s. A cursory examination of the existing JS/HTML/CSS shows a shocking lack of understanding of the evolution of HTML - I would consider this to be a project of IE6/IE7 led 'development'.
Our goal is to bring this to jQuery 1.12.x (or 2.x as a real bonus, but not required) with proper CSS that will not throw errors/warnings in a browser made within the past four years.
Core direct-hand experience needed: you must have actually worked with jQuery 1.x on then-current browsers and have "evolved" as jQuery, HTML, and browsers have evolved to be able to recognise where all of the skeletons are.
JSON, JavaScript, HTML (pre-HTML4 through HTML5.3), XHR (simple ones), and how to obtain desired formatting with CSS2+ stylesheets are required for this job.
