Web Proxy Development in Node.js with Express and http-proxy-middleware
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I am looking for a developer with experience in Node.js and JavaScript (no TypeScript) to create a functional webpage that acts as a web proxy. The system must handle all traffic through a URL query, like the following example:
The proxy must ensure that any resources loaded on the page (subpages, iframes, references, images, URLs within scripts, scripts, etc.) are also redirected through the proxy to bypass CORS restrictions and ensure seamless navigation within the proxied site.
A similar project to what I am requesting can be found at CroxyProxy.
Technical Requirements:
Backend: Node.js with Express.
Middleware: Use of http-proxy-middleware to manage requests.
URL Rewriting: Modify URLs within HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to point to the proxy instead of their original locations.
CORS Handling: Bypass CORS restrictions to ensure proper content loading.
Service Workers (optional but recommended): If necessary, use Service Workers to handle request redirection and optimize resource loading.
WebSockets Handling: Support for websockets on proxied pages.
Multi-Domain Compatibility: Not only handle the main URL but also any external references loaded by the proxied page.
Security: Prevent information leaks that could reveal the original URL of the content.
Deliverables:
Fully functional source code with clear installation and usage instructions.
Explanation of the proxy workflow and how it handles URL rewriting.
Optional: Small documentation explaining the code and the implementation of Service Workers (if used).
Required Skills:
Experience with Node.js and Express.
Knowledge of http-proxy-middleware or similar libraries.
Handling HTML, CSS, and JavaScript manipulation for URL rewriting.
Experience with Service Workers (optional but recommended).
Proxy security and prevention of information leaks.
If you have experience with similar projects, please send me examples or a brief description of how you would approach the project. I would feel more comfortable if the freelancer speaks Spanish. Looking forward to your proposal!
