Now you need to make background refresh function
which checks whether tracking GPS is enabled or not
if enabled then call api to save location lat/long otherwise no api call Not realod the page it should continuously save the location of current user

if tracking GPS is enabled we have the api to save current location of user
which you need to call if tracking gps is enabled it will be background process not frontend page reloading

As we can say like Mobile apps have background processes which continuously running.
