Upgrade & Troubleshoot AI Voice Application
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
We're looking for an experienced developer to help maintain and improve our AI voice application, PhoneCallGPT, which runs on the VAPI SDK and twilio. The current version of VAPI is out of date and our web-based call functionality is non-operational. Your job will be to upgrade our integration to the latest VAPI release, ensure full compatibility, and diagnose and resolve issues affecting our call feature.
Responsibilities:
Update PhoneCallGPT to the latest VAPI SDK release
Audit and refactor current integration for compatibility with new VAPI changes
Debug and restore web-based call functionality
Conduct tests to ensure stable, high-quality voice calls post-update
Document all changes and provide recommendations for future-proofing
Requirements:
Proven experience with VAPI or similar AI voice/telephony APIs
Strong JavaScript/TypeScript and API integration skills
Familiarity with WebRTC, IVR systems, and async audio processing
Ability to quickly troubleshoot and debug web applications
Clear communication and timely progress updates
Bonus Skills:
Experience with Sonic or other high-fidelity voice models
Familiarity with React and Next.js (if used in our frontend stack)
Project Scope:
One-time update + fix, with potential for ongoing maintenance work
