Troubleshoot My Backend (JavaScript / Node.js)
Budget: €12 – €18 EUR
I'm a beginner developer and recently created a backend project using JavaScript (Node.js). Yesterday I was able to run and test it locally without any issues — everything worked. But today, the backend suddenly stopped running. There are no visible errors, it just won’t start. I haven’t changed anything in the code since yesterday.
I need help figuring out what went wrong. Ideally, I’d like to fix the issue myself, so I’m asking for at least a clear explanation or direction. If you fix it directly, please explain exactly what the problem was and how you solved it, so I can learn from the experience.
The backend is written in JavaScript using Node.js (possibly with Express). I will provide the full project files.
My budget is up to $500 depending on how much you help and how clearly you explain the solution.
Scope of work
Identify why the Node.js backend stopped working locally
Provide at least a clear hint or explanation
If you fix it, explain exactly what was wrong and what was done
Project is backend only — no frontend
Technical requirements
- Expertise in JavaScript and Node.js.
- Knowledge of Express.js framework.
- Expertise in E-commerce Websites

The project is not hosted
Further cooperation is possible
Now, on Windows, when I try to run the backend, nothing happens — it just hangs for a few seconds and then closes with no error.
On macOS, the same project gives me the message: "Yikes something went wrong!"
Because I’ve had past experiences where freelancers disappeared after getting paid, I will only send payment after you send a screenshot showing that you’ve at least tried to run the project on your side (even if it shows the error). Once I see you’ve started working, I will immediately release payment. You can begin the actual fix after payment is sent.
