Job Overview:
We are seeking a React Native Developer to work on specific pending tasks for our Uber-like taxi application. The primary responsibilities include implementing live tracking for both drivers and riders after a taxi is booked and resolving an issue with the driver-side chat functionality. The mobile app is built using React Native, and the backend, developed with Node.js, is managed by our in-house backend team. You will focus solely on the frontend tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Live Tracking Implementation:
Develop and integrate the real-time Live Tracking feature for both drivers and riders after a taxi booking.
Ensure smooth communication between the frontend and backend to display accurate location data.
Use Google Maps or Mapbox API for map and location services.
Ensure location data updates in real-time without affecting app performance.
Fix Driver-Side Chat Functionality:
Debug and fix issues with the chat functionality on the driver side.
Ensure reliable, real-time communication between drivers and riders during the ride.
Collaboration:
Work closely with the in-house backend team to ensure seamless integration between the frontend (React Native) and backend (Node.js).
Coordinate with the backend team to resolve any API-related issues for live tracking and chat.
Required Skills:
Strong experience with React Native for mobile app development (iOS and Android).
Familiarity with Google Maps API, Mapbox, or similar services for location tracking.
Experience with real-time communication (e.g., WebSocket, Firebase) for chat features.
Understanding of integrating with Node.js APIs for backend communication.
Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and optimize app performance for live data handling.
