Setup alpine.js for Tailwind Rails 7

I have a new Rails 7 app running with setup for Tailwind. I have component code from Tailwindui.com but the pancake menu does not work. I understand I have to write some code with alpine.js to get it to work. I know nothing about js. I just need someone to show me the alpine.js code, explain how it works, and where to put the code in a Rails 7 app in order to make the mobile pancake menu work on the Tailwind template.
