Plain javascript popup

Need for an existing project work. Simple javascript popup window on calling a function i am using alert now.
Instead i want to pass the message to a function it should open a nice dialog and close button.
Another function to show the dialog and close the dialog for information display
For example --- Your transaction is underprocessing,
Connection successful
It should be plain javascript
