Node.js / Vercel Backend Developer for API Refactor (Full-Stack Welcome)

We’re looking for a skilled backend (or full-stack) developer to refactor and enhance a Vercel-hosted API built using Next.js API routes. The API consumes structured sports data via RapidAPI and needs to be redesigned for production use — with clean structure, minimal payloads, and strong performance.

You’ll work within a modern serverless stack (Vercel + Next.js) to build fast, secure, and scalable endpoints powering a frontend platform.

What You’ll Do:
• Refactor API routes hosted on Vercel (Next.js)
• Integrate & normalize third-party REST data (via RapidAPI)
• Structure endpoints
• Format responses, implement .env auth, add error handling
• (Optional) Implement caching (memory or Vercel edge features)
