Node.js API Backend Development -- 2

I’m building out the server side of a Node.js application and need a developer who can focus exclusively on API development. The brief is simple: create clean, well-structured endpoints that expose my current business logic over HTTP.

At this stage I’m not looking for database management or authentication work—those pieces are already covered—so you can concentrate on designing and implementing the routes, controllers, and middleware. I’m leaning toward Express, but I’m open to Fastify or a comparable framework if you can justify the choice.

Deliverables
• Fully functional REST endpoints, grouped logically and following standard HTTP conventions
• Robust input validation, centralized error handling, and sensible status codes
• Inline JSDoc plus a concise OpenAPI/Swagger spec so the front-end team can integrate quickly
• A short README outlining setup, run scripts, and any environment variables
