Make webextension work on another site
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
rComments is a browser extension to quickly preview reddit comments from the frontpage without loading individual post pages. The extension allows one to "traverse through a post's comments and replies directly from the front pages of any subreddit"
The extension currently works on reddit only and this project is to extend all of the existing functionality onto a third party reddit frontend called libreddit. The main instance of libreddit exists on https://libredd.it
So the modified extension should be able to:
- work on a chosen libreddit instance
- be able to mouseover a comment link of each post, and load top level comment
- load successive next top level comments after each click of 'Next Comment' button at the top of the dialog
- load successive child comments after each click of 'Next Reply' link at the bottom of each comment, regardless of positioning
- it should obey all sort options selected: load top comments if top selected. load best comments if best selected etc.
- upvoting/downvoting is not needed in this implementation. See rComments on reddit without logging in for the example.
- should work on frontpage
- should work on any subreddit page
- should work on search pages
- bonus: Be compatible with greasemonkey script "YouTube Link Title". If a youtube link is in a loaded comment, let it be processed by the script in place and allowing rewriting of the link to youtube title, showing thumbnail preview, and allowing in-page embedded video on click (all functions of that greasemonkey script)
