MERN Stack Job Portal using Claude AI
Budget: £2 – £5 GBP
I’m building a lean, production-ready job portal and I’d like you to handle the full implementation while leveraging Claude AI throughout the process to keep development fast and well-documented.
Core feature set
• Employers create accounts and post new jobs.
• Job seekers register with email/password, build a profile, upload a résumé (PDF/doc), and apply to any listing.
• An admin panel lets me moderate users, jobs, and applications.
Tech stack and workflow
We’ll use a Node.js backend with a REST (or lightweight GraphQL if you prefer) API, React on the front end, and standard email-password authentication backed by JWT or session cookies. Pick whatever database you’re most comfortable with—MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or similar—just keep migrations simple. I’m fine with libraries such as Express, Sequelize/Mongoose, React Router, and Tailwind or Material UI for styling.
Claude AI should play an active role: prompt generation of boilerplate code, unit tests, and inline documentation. Please share the key prompts or scripts you use so I can reuse them later.
Deliverables
1. Source code for backend and frontend in a public or private repo of my choice.
2. Clear README with local setup, .env sample, and one-click deployment instructions to a common host (Vercel/Render/Heroku, etc.).
3. Seed data and Postman/Insomnia collection for quick endpoint testing.
4. Brief changelog highlighting where Claude assisted.
Acceptance criteria
• A new user can register, verify email if enabled, log in, and complete their profile.
• Employers can create, edit, and delete a job post.
• Job seekers can apply once per job; duplicate applications are prevented.
• Résumé files are stored securely and retrievable by the employer.
• Basic validation, error handling, and unit tests cover critical flows.
If this overview matches your skill set, indicate any suggested improvements to the workflow or stack and your estimated timeline for an MVP. Let’s get this portal live quickly with Claude as our coding copilot.
