Javascript / Solidity help

I am working on simple Javascript / Solidity problem. I have never programmed in Javascript so struggling with aspects related to it and would like someone's assistance who can help me understand some of the concepts. In particular in relation to async, promise, callback. Looking for help in a tutor sense not for someone to directly work on the problem.
