"JavaScript and WebGL Developer for Simple Canvas Drawing Application"

Job ID: 38626942

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

Job Description:
I am looking for an experienced JavaScript and WebGL developer to help complete a small project. The task involves building a simple canvas-based application where users can interact with the canvas by drawing shapes. You’ll be working with WebGL to create and render shapes, handle user inputs (mouse clicks and key presses), and manage the canvas's state. The project includes basic WebGL and JavaScript functionality, and we have the initial setup, but the following needs to be implemented:

Clear the canvas with a specific color when the user presses a key.
Draw triangles on the canvas based on user input (mouse clicks).
Handle input events (keyboard and mouse interactions).
Ensure everything works seamlessly in a web environment.

Requirements:
Proficient in JavaScript and WebGL.
Comfortable working with shaders and handling canvas rendering.
Knowledge of basic HTML and CSS for layout purposes.
Ability to troubleshoot, optimize, and ensure cross-browser compatibility (primarily focusing on Chrome).
Deliver the final project as a simple HTML5/JS web application.
Deliverables:
Complete JavaScript and WebGL functionality for drawing and clearing shapes on the canvas.
Clean, readable code that follows best practices.
A working project that can be hosted locally and tested on a browser.

Additional Notes:
You will be provided with the existing HTML, CSS, and JavaScript setup. The goal is to enhance this project by adding the missing WebGL functionality, specifically handling user interactions and rendering shapes. You’ll need to be comfortable working with shader programs and canvas interactions.
