JavaScript Development for Mousetracking and Timekeeping in Qualtrics

Job ID: 39179260

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I'm conducting an online research study using Qualtrics. Since Qualtrics lacks built-in features for mouse tracking and timekeeping, I require custom JavaScript code to facilitate product visualization and data collection.

The script will be used in a survey where participants interact with different products, allowing us to track their behaviours, including time spent on product pages, interactions with product images, and selection choices. The script should be modular and reusable for similar studies in the future.

Key Requirements:
- Track Mouse Hover & Click Events: Track interactions with product images: clicks and hover actions.
- Time Logging: Capture time spent on product pages: total time on the front page and back page, as well as time from one round to the next round.
- Data Storage & Integration with Qualtrics: Store all recorded events in Qualtrics Embedded Data.
- Ensure that the script works seamlessly within Qualtrics' JavaScript environment.

Ideal Skills:
- Proficient in JavaScript, particularly in creating scripts for Qualtrics.
- Familiarity with Qualtrics JavaScript API
- Experience with event listeners, timestamp tracking, and data logging.
- Understanding of Qualtrics Embedded Data for storing responses.
