Interactive Tamil–English Dictionary Build
Budget: ₹12,500 – ₹37,500 INR
I have already gathered a large, carefully curated Tamil-to-English word list in MS Word and secured the domain name; now I need a developer who can turn that content into a live, searchable dictionary. The emphasis is squarely on getting the lexical data online and fully usable—the visual polish can follow once the core product is solid.
Core functions I need from day one: an interactive interface that lets visitors search by word and explore usage examples, plus smart filters so returning users can drill down quickly. Readers must also be able to send feedback on any entry; a simple comment or rating widget that feeds into an admin dashboard is fine as long as it is spam-protected.
On the back end I will need an import tool (or clear instructions) that converts my Word file into whatever database you choose—MySQL, PostgreSQL, or a NoSQL option if you can justify it. Please build with mainstream, well-documented technologies so future enhancements such as pronunciation audio or a “word of the day” module can be added without a full rewrite.
Each word will be av ailable in transliterated English, in Tamil Script and occasionally in Sanskrit as well. Similarly the examples and usage will be in Tamil Script and in transliterated English. The code for the transliteration scheme will be provided for each search.
Deliverables (acceptance criteria)
• Working web app installed on my hosting, publicly accessible under the reserved domain
• Bulk upload/management panel for the lexicon
• Front-end search by word and by usage example with responsive results display
• User feedback mechanism tied to each entry and visible only to admins until approved
• Clear deployment read-me and a brief hand-off call or screen-share
