Google Maps Web Application for Travelers
Budget: ₹12,500 – ₹37,500 INR
Looking for an experienced web developer to create a map-based public website with the following features:
Functional Requirements:
• Display locations pin on the map based on Excel/database details (name, Address (or Lat/log), Phone, picture etc. Attributes)
• Provide a nearby location list on the left based on the current location or a list of locations based on search and filter criteria.
• Enable zooming to the selected location from the list and vice versa. When a map location pin is selected, the corresponding list should be highlighted in the left places list.
• Map zoom based on the mouse scroll (Should not be embedded google map) .
• The list will include pictures and summaries of the place's rating from Google, cost, number of reviews, address, etc.
• Various filters should be available on the map based on multiple criteria (around 5 to 10 criteria) to filter the location.
• Users can sort the place list at the top, or by highest ratings etc.
• There should be a place search option based on Google Map location search option.
• Provide directions from the current location to the selected pin through Google Maps.
• The map can be either Google Maps or Leaflet map/open street or any other maps.
• When a list item is selected, additional information about the location, including many attributes (around 10) and an embedded YouTube link, should be displayed.
• Locations can be symbolized based on the type of location. Google my map can be used but front end how it has to be shown within the web view not as embed
• In the map window when the user clicks on a pin, it should show a picture and key information.
• The application should have a blog page.
• In the future, the application can support payment method linking.
• Location sharing option to be provided.
• Well optimized in the mobile map view (responsive site).
• Show user current location and Users can change location by searching location.
• Map window should support to add some third party MAP API services/layer in the future.
Optional Features
• Users can add additional info (Picture, video, or remark) for the selected place which needs to be approved by admin to include. (Optional)
• Users can upload new locations along with pictures, videos, and descriptions, which need to be approved by the admin before displaying on the map. (Optional)
• Option for users to add review and write a review about the place. Also, a tab to show Google reviews. (Optional)
• Users can save the favorite location to go list (In such a case, user login and account management page) - Gmail and own username (email ID) password to login. Change password here or logout. (Optional)
Design Considerations:
• The application should prioritize usability, with an intuitive modern interface that allows seamless interaction and data exploration.
Technology Stack:
• Front-end: JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3 (with frameworks/libraries as needed).
• Back-end: Google sheet/Excel or PostgreSQL DB.
• API Integration: Google API, Map RESTful services in the future.
• WordPress is not recommended. Either building application from scratch or No code solution like Web flow can be considered provided the above functionality can be achieved.
• Web developer's input into design and UX/UI are very much appreciated.
• The technology should be selected carefully considering the application's performance, future scalability, ease of development and maintenance, administration, subscription charges, and support for intuitive modern design
Performance Criteria:
• Application speed load and performance are the Key criteria while designing and it cannot be compromised. The application should be scalable to include many features to add in the future. The application must efficiently handle concurrent data interactions and maintain performance integrity during high traffic periods.
Other:
• The developer must provide a video walkthrough of the website after completion so that I know how to maintain and further develop the website myself in the future. Develop to support to deploy the application on the hosting provider.
