Google Maps Style Customization
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I need a small, focused tweak to Google Maps so the in-app map truly reflects our brand experience. Using the Google Maps Developer Console, please restyle only the roads and highways, giving them a minimalistic look with soft colors. The end result must be a valid style.json file that I can drop straight into the Maps SDK and see exactly what you designed.
Beyond the base restyle, the map has to communicate three clear states for our ride-hailing flow:
• When a user is searching for a driver.
• When a driver is hired.
• While the hired driver’s route is displayed, it must automatically draw in the driver’s car color.
In addition, please ensure gate numbers for shopping malls and airports are visibly labeled so riders meet drivers at the correct entrance.
Deliverables:
1. A working style.json containing the new road and highway palette.
2. Brief usage notes (where to paste the JSON and any map ID settings).
3. Quick tips on how to invoke the three states above with standard JavaScript or Android/iOS Maps SDK calls—no deep integration needed, just the basics to prove the style supports them.
Keep it lean; I’m not looking for a full app build—just the essentials to validate the visual style and state cues.
