Google Earth Engine (GEE) Expert Needed for Grassland Monitoring

Job ID: 38678216

Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 USD

I am seeking an experienced professional to assist me in utilizing Google Earth Engine (GEE) for monitoring grassland health to run as an Early Warning System (EWS) for providing real-time data and insights for informed decision-making and assessing potential threats to grassland health within the areas of interest. Also, I need to create automation processes to streamline data analysis and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop an automated EWS through the GEE - utilizing remote sensing data, climate models, and existing baseline data.
- Monitor and assess potential threats to grassland health within the area of interest.
- Improve informed decision-making on grazing practices and conservation efforts for long-term sustainability.

EWS Components:
Sentinel-2 satellite imagery could be used to identify and map suitable grazing areas and analyze changes in vegetation cover over time.
Climate Data: Integrate readily available climate data (rainfall, temperature, wind speed, evaporation rates) to predict potential droughts or weather events impacting pastures.

In addition, I am interested to automate data exchange from the GEE to ArcGIS server/portal/Web map/Dashboard through web services (WMS or WFS).

The ideal candidate should have:
- strong background in coding within the Google Earth Engine platform;
- proficiency in ArcGIS applications;
- Proven track record in developing GEE codes and GEE web apps;
- Interest in environmental protection, food security and processes in improving decision support systems.

I look forward to your proposals.
