Fusion 360 Javascript Post Processor Modification

Job ID: 37788881

Budget: $15 – $25 USD

I'm currently seeking an individual who can work on modifying a Javascript post processor for Fusion 360 milling operations.

Skillset should include:

- Proficient in Javascript and Fusion 360 operations
- In-depth understanding of CAM

Task Details:

I need someone to modify a post processor for Fusion 360 milling operations. I need to add movement on an additional axis to make up for tool wear. Basically, for all G1 and G3 xy moves, I need a command added to move a proportional amount in another axis (U). Z-only moves and all rapid (G0) moves should be ignored. The scale factor for this move should be adjustable in the "Post Properties" dialog. The scale factor will likely be in the .001 range. So for an XY move of length 100mm, U would move -.1mm. Since the moves for xyz are absolute, I think the U moves will also need to be absolute so it will be necessary for the user to enter the initial U position when running the post (this could also be done in the "Post Properties" dialog).

I can provide the current post processor CPS file we are using and example fusion projects with operations to post process. I am open to other ways to accomplish this task if you have expertise in this area. It would actually be preferable to make the U moves proportional to the "stock removed" during a given move, but I think that is a more difficult task. Let me know if you think you can go that route instead.

This will be the first of many coding tasks on this project, so I'm looking for someone to engage with longer term.

Please provide examples of similar projects you have completed previously. I look forward to working with you on this special project.
