Full Stack SaaS Javascript Developer

Job ID: 32460190

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

WageVest is bringing together payroll systems with trading platforms to bring about a new type of employee-employer contract that enables salaries to grow with market growth, leading to employees having more valuable salaries, while employees are able to better attract & retain talent.

WageVest is enabling a new type of employee-employer contract that enables inflation-resistant salaries. We are developing a SaaS product that integrates with employer and employee financial/payroll toolchains, as well as adding exchange platforms to automatically execute the necessary contracts. This is not a trivial "pay me in bitcoin", since that still leaves contracts 100% denominated in dollars -- we change the denominator of the contract itself (not just to bitcoin, but also to a portfolio of stocks). See this thread to get a sense of the implications of that: https://twitter.com/mchapiro/status/1467986594514628610 and check out the company Twitter for more of an overview: https://twitter.com/wagevest/

**Position Overview** You will lead development of the platform we are building that can be launched to customers. You will select other developers or designers as needed to execute on subtasks, including a final review for security prior to launch. You will ensure any major bugs uncovered with pilot customers are quickly fixed.

**Experience Needed**Backend: postgreSQL, Prisma, REST APIs, node.JS, typescript. Frontend: React, typescript, storybook

3rd party API integrations (banking and payroll related), and experience managing small teams

Should also have experience building a SaaS product through deployment (i.e. used by customers), as the managing technical person. Preferably you have built a SaaS product that is still in use today. You need experience building apps that take in user data and execute numerical computations and then take actions based on that data.

Most of the API integrations and a lot of the backend is already built, including significant unit testing. Uses several APIs. Web app is desktop optimized for admin/employer, and mobile optimized for employee. Two account types. The app has a fairly limited set of capabilities for both account types with respect to the operations that each can perform. The contracts to enable the platform to work are fairly straightforward. We will need to do end-to-end feature testing and conduct a security audit prior to launch, as well as thorough debugging pre-launch given that this is a critical financial product.

**Requirements** Must have excellent verbal fluency and native level proficiency in English. Must have an excellent ability to understand logical explanations and documentation that is provided at a high level for the core algorithmic functions of the app, without an additional person to translate that into low level functions for you. My background is materials engineering and math so the details will be adequately provided, but I have found that some people have trouble following for some reason. You do not need a a financial background... a former colleague and CTO says my expectation of "basic competency" maps "expertise" so I guess I need someone who is really sharp. You should intuitively understand the product once it is explained, and be able to fill in small details rather than needing micromanagement.

Work in machine learning or computer vision may map well to the skills needed for this.

We have validated product-market-fit, with customers ready to go as soon as we launch. So if you are good, it could turn into an ongoing full time position.
