Full-Stack Developer for GroceryDeal MVP -- 2

Job ID: 38984511

Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD

I’m looking for a budget-conscious Full-Stack Developer to build the first iteration (MVP/Prototype) of our GroceryDeal platform. The goal is to validate the core concept (multi-store deal aggregation, basic product searches, and user-facing deal listings) at a low cost, with the potential for further collaboration on future iterations. We have an initial GitHub repository demonstrating the concept and the APIs used, which you can review to understand the current implementation and what needs improvement.

Scope of Work:

Prototype (Phase 1)
-Implement a basic deal search interface by integrating multiple store APIs (e.g., Kroger) to display local grocery deals.
-Establish a simple front-end (React, Vue, or similar) and lightweight back-end (Node.js/Express, etc.).
-Provide minimal UI/UX—just enough to validate the idea and collect feedback.

Early User Acquisition (Phase 2)

-Refine API integrations for stability and accuracy.
-Build a basic CI/CD pipeline (e.g., Heroku) to streamline deployments and testing.
-Enhance the front-end where needed (e.g., filtering, sorting options) while keeping the code modular for future expansions.

Key Responsibilities
-Develop & Deploy an MVP that includes essential functionalities (deal search, store API integrations).
-Optimize for quick validation (lean architecture, minimal overhead) and ensure the codebase can scale for later phases.
-Collaborate on basic front-end/back-end tasks (UI design can be minimal, but user flows should be functional).
-Review Existing Code: We have a GitHub repository (link below) that contains an initial concept and API integrations needing professional refinement.

Preferred Skills & Experience
-Full-Stack Proficiency: Comfortable with modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Node.js/Express, etc.).
-API Integration: Experience interfacing with external APIs, handling rate limits, and ensuring data consistency.
-MVP/Prototype Builds: Familiarity with rapid prototyping, focusing on validating features with minimal tech debt.
-Scalable Architecture: Ability to structure code and project setup so future additions (e.g., grocery list builder, meal planner, subscription features) can be integrated without major rewrites.
-Version Control: Competent with Git/GitHub; any experience in CI/CD on Heroku or similar hosting platforms is a plus.

Long-Term Collaboration
-If this MVP meets our validation goals, we plan to retain the developer for future phases (e.g., building advanced meal planning, user profiles, subscription tiers, and potentially cross-platform mobile apps).

Additional Resources
-GitHub Repo (for initial concept and basic API usage): https://github.com/mygrocerydeals

How to Apply:
-Proposal: Briefly describe your approach to building a lean MVP.
-Review provided documentation (SOW is a rough draft - need your version)
-Relevant Experience: Share examples of previous MVP or e-commerce/API projects.
-Timeline & Budget: Provide a rough estimate for Phases 1 and 2 (prototype + early acquisition improvements).

We look forward to working with a talented developer who can help us validate our vision and set the stage for a more robust platform in the future!
