Fix small issues with Google Sheet App Script that creates Sub Folders & Files on edit.

Job ID: 35449210

Budget: £10 – £15 GBP

I have a Google sheet that I use as an index for all my product stock. Inside this sheet, I already have two working App Script functions created that work, but I am having some small bug issues. So I am looking for a fresh pair of eyes to debug and help fix.

The first function is createFolderSubFolders to work On Edit and as the name suggests it creates folders and files based on edit from values from column A & B. The second script function WriteURLs works with an On Open trigger and it searches the parent folder to find the Folder and File containing specific text related to values in column A and B, gets the URLs and puts the values inside Column L & M.

1. The createFolderSubFolders script already has a find test implemented in the code to check If Folder Already Exists but it doesn't seem to work. Therefore, the issue is file and folder Duplicates are created with the same exact title, so I need help to debug and fix to avoid this unnecessary action.

2. Another bug is that the createFolderSubFolders script seems to also create subfolders and file based on first row header values. For example. Ref # ID – Location. But I am unsure why this is happening.

3. Small Improvement, the createFolderSubFolders script works with values from Col A & B, however I think it would be better now to set an extra IF condition to only create folder when ‘Draft’ is selected from Colum C, this provides extra protection when adding new values on edit.

4. The second script function WriteURLs works when tested in a separate sheet but I unfortunately can’t get it to execute when used in the same index sheet as createFolderSubFolders. So I need some help to implement both scripts in same sheet.

I am happy to discuss more details with you on chat and work alongside you to complete the task. If you have experience with app script, I believe this will be a very quick, easy job for you.

Comment with "INDEX" in your bid proposal so that I know you're genuine and have read this project bio.
