Fix SvelteKit HMR After Theme Update
Budget: €8 – €30 EUR
I run a SvelteKit-based CMS and, right after a recent theme overhaul, Hot Module Replacement stopped responding. No matter which file I touch—routes, components, even global styles—the dev server rebuilds entirely instead of swapping modules, so the browser never refreshes automatically. The break is project-wide rather than isolated to a single page or component.
I’m looking for someone who can jump into the repo, trace what changed during the theme update, and restore reliable HMR through the usual Vite workflow. That may involve comparing current and previous commits, checking vite.config, svelte.config, or any plugin versions, and making the minimal code or dependency tweaks required.
Deliverables
• Working branch and PR that re-enables fast, automatic HMR across the whole project in `npm run dev`
• Brief summary of the root cause and exactly what you changed so I can avoid the problem in future
If you know your way around SvelteKit, Vite and modern front-end tooling, this should be a quick win.
