Expert in G Suite (Docs and Sheets automation though Google Apps Script)

I need to create an AddOn that will create a menu in G Docs, once I open a document that has a pretty standard structure, I would like to be able to select one of the tables, go to the menu, click on a button and make a code run in the background that process the table to pick data from the table and add some pieces of data into a Google Sheet, in a specific sheet into a table within a tab.
