AI-Driven Narrative RPG Development
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I am looking for a developer to build a text-only, web-based, single-player, turn-based RPG that uses OpenAI’s GPT API to generate narrative and choices dynamically. The game will not include any graphics, sprites, or animations — the entire interface will be based on structured text, buttons, and stat panels. The narrative theme is undecided and will be defined later, but the game mechanics and structure must follow specific rules and features.
Core Requirements:
Web-based game, playable in modern browsers (desktop and mobile)
Text-only interface: no visual graphics, no animation, no character art
Fixed round system (morning, afternoon, evening, night)
Calendar structure (28-day month with week-based recurring or scheduled events)
Integration with OpenAI GPT API to generate narrative and 2–5 decision options per round
Player character system with:
Stats (e.g. energy, money, reputation)
Traits and skills (traits influence outcomes or available decisions)
Inventory (items, resources, upgrades, quantities)
Car or asset system (customizable elements with stats and history)
NPC system with:
Unique ID, name, traits, relationship level, memory/history of interaction
Decision system that modifies player state based on choices
Persistent game state saved locally (localStorage) or via backend
Status panel showing current date/time, energy, money, traits, inventory, and current objective
Fixed UI layout: status area, narrative text, decision buttons
Modular and clean codebase to allow for future additions
All code must be fully commented and easy to understand
Deliverables:
Complete working game prototype using HTML/JavaScript or React
Integrated GPT functionality (developer will implement connection; I will provide the API key)
Working save/load system
Configurable file (JSON or similar) for traits, items, NPCs, events, and initial player data
Simple documentation or setup instructions for editing data and deploying the game
Optional Features (bonus if included):
Ability to export game state as JSON
Admin/test mode to manually trigger specific game events
Support for random or scheduled background events
Basic login or player ID to save multiple sessions (optional)
