Django-Based Project with Google Cloud Datastore Integration -- 3

#### Overview:
We are seeking a part-time developer to assist in the refactor and enhancement of our Django-based application. The ideal candidate will have experience with Django, Google Cloud Datastore, Google Cloud and modern web development practices. This project involves migrating from traditional Django 0.96 Python 2 models and Views latest Python and Django version and Google Cloud Datastore native support, integrating JWT authentication, and optimizing various application components. Most of the basic Views, Auth and DB use are already migrated and working, so it will be a short learning curve.
The future frontend will be Angular so, for a while Django render and Angular might coexist.
#### Project Scope:
1. **Refactor Existing Codebase**:
- Migrate from traditional Django models to Google Cloud Datastore.
- Update views and models to use the new data access methods.
- Ensure compatibility and improve the existing functionality.
2. **JWT Authentication**:
- Implement JWT authentication for securing API endpoints.
- Integrate token refresh mechanism for smooth user experience.
3. **Google Cloud Storage Integration**:
- Replace custom URL signing with Google Cloud Storage client libraries.
- Ensure secure and efficient file handling and access.
4. **Optimization and Enhancements**:
- Optimize the existing code for performance and scalability.
- Enhance existing features based on best practices.
- Implement new features as needed.
5. **Transition to Angular**
#### Tech Stack:
- **Backend**: Python, Django, Django REST Framework, Google Cloud Datastore, Google Cloud Storage
- **Frontend**: Basic understanding required; primarily focusing on backend tasks later Angular
- **Authentication**: JWT, Django Authentication
- **Version Control**: Git
- **Development Tools**: VSCode or any preferred IDE

- Proven experience with Django and Django REST Framework.
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Datastore.

- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
