Develop a Google App Script to Merge/Append Google Documents
Budget: $250 – $750 AUD
We are looking for a developer who is appropriately experienced with:
- [Mandatory] - Google Docs and Drive API
- [Mandatory] - Google App Script
To allow us to build the following workflow:
- (1) **Insert documents** — Google Docs which will necessarily be structured as follows:
Table:
| -- Header -- | -- Header -- |
| Bullet point list | inline image |
Paragraph content
Page Break
However, ideally, if we are able to append Google docs of any structure that would optimal and highly favourable.
- (2) **Main document** — A Google Doc with multiple pages. On one page, there is a placeholder [[insert_inserts_here]], which is to be replaced by all (1) insert documents (inserted one after each other)
There is an existing solution to this problem:
https://www.labnol.org/code/19892-merge-multiple-google-documents
However it is rigid and certainly won't allow for merging Google Docs of any structure. At the very least, we require for Google Docs to be merged which necessarily have inline images *within tables*.
Note - we are not at all rigid with using the above workflow or even Google Docs - if there is another solution you are familiar with to achieve the same outcome (being able to merge different documents together, even word documents, by API), then we are interested.
NEXT STEPS:
To apply accept this job, please reply to this posting with answers to the following questions (1 very limited, 5 extremely competent):
(1) Your experience with Google Docs API (/5)
(2) Your experience with Google App Script (/5)
(3) Your understanding of how to solve this problem (1 - you are not sure but will need to do some research; 5 - you know exactly what to do)
We will give you samples of the documents that need to be merged, so that you can make sure that you are comfortable with the work.
