Desktop Taskbar App Development with Electron
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I'm in need of an Electron-based desktop taskbar app. This app should be able to monitor when a user is focused on a text field in any desktop application, similar to how Grammarly operates. Upon detection, the app will show a minimalistic overlay icon.
The key features of this app include:
- On click of the overlay icon, a dialog opens with several options.
- The ability to read from the focused textbox, which will only be plain text.
- The ability to paste to the focused textbox.
The solution must be cross-platform, compatible with both macOS and Windows. There are no additional actions required for the text read from the focused textbox; we plan to extend this functionality ourselves in the future.
Ideal skills and experience for this job include:
- Proficiency in Typescript, particularly with Electron framework.
- Experience with creating cross-platform desktop applications.
- Knowledge of macOS and Windows operating systems.
