This role is ideal for someone with deep knowledge of WordPress internals and a proven track record of delivering tailored solutions that balance performance, usability, and design fidelity.
■Scope of Work
The project will involve the following primary responsibilities:
1. Custom WordPress Theme Development
Design and build a fully responsive, lightweight, and SEO-optimized theme from scratch or based on design files (Figma, PSD, etc.).
Ensure cross-browser compatibility and mobile-first responsiveness.
Follow best practices for maintainable and modular code.
2. Custom Plugin Development
Create bespoke plugins tailored to site-specific functionality (e.g., custom post types, integrations with third-party APIs, user workflows).
Maintain clean separation between plugin and theme functionality.
Ensure compatibility with future WordPress updates.
3. Site Functionality Enhancements
Implement dynamic features such as AJAX filtering, user dashboards, or advanced form handling.
Optimize performance (caching, asset loading, database queries).
Provide solutions for security, backups, and scalability.

We're looking for someone with the following qualifications and qualities:
Technical Skills:
Expert knowledge of PHP, HTML5, CSS3 (SASS/LESS a plus), and JavaScript (including jQuery, vanilla JS, or frameworks).
Familiarity with WordPress Codex, action/filter hooks, custom post types, WP REST API, and Gutenberg block development.
Experience with ACF (Advanced Custom Fields), WooCommerce, and multilingual plugins is a strong plus.
Development Approach:
Version control (Git) and local development environments (e.g., Docker, Local by Flywheel).
Agile or iterative development practices with clear documentation.
Proficiency in integrating existing assets and content into new structures without data loss or design inconsistency.
