The core idea is for students to upload their course textbooks (in PDF format) and create a chatbot that can assist them in learning by:
• Summarizing chapters from the textbook.
• Answering questions related to the course content.
• Solving equations and explaining concepts.
• Providing deeper insights into the material for better understanding.
Design:
• Take inspiration from Canvas (Student)
• Each course/chatbot on Dashboard
Key Features:
1. User Authentication & Profiles:
• Students can sign up, log in, and manage their profiles.
• Each user will have a dashboard to view their courses and bots.
2. Course Creation & Textbook Upload:
• Students should be able to create new courses and upload textbook PDFs.
• The system should handle the PDF upload, store it securely (e.g., using AWS S3), and parse the text for chatbot use.
3. Chatbot Integration:
• For each course, a custom chatbot should be created using OpenAI’s API.
• The chatbot should reference the uploaded textbook to answer questions, summarize chapters, and provide explanations.
4. User-Friendly Chat Interface:
• A clean and intuitive chat interface where students can interact with the chatbot and ask questions about the course material.
5. Textbook Parsing:
• Extract and index text from the uploaded PDF textbook, dividing it by chapters/sections for easy chatbot interaction.
