Cross-Platform React-Electron JS App Development

Job ID: 38608628

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I'm looking for a developer skilled in Electron.js to modify a simple desktop application with a graphical user interface (GUI) for Windows / cross-platform.

This is just for a proof of concept so I'm thinking of making it really simple. This is a React-Electron project. The UI is to be done in React, while Electron JS is used to make it a desktop app.

See reddit post for info: https://www.reddit.com/r/StructuralEngineering/comments/1fc5c5u/tool_that_automates_modeling_on_sap2000_part_3/

Overview - Part 1 (Note: I have COMPLETED THIS and will give you code):

- The purpose of this app is to run several python scripts. Hence, you will have to provide an embed python bundle that is able to run the scripts. The user is assumed to not have python / node in their local machine. (Completed)
- you have to ensure that requirements.txt packages are installed (Completed)
- the output of the python file will have to be displayed on the gui (Completed)

Note: I have already done this and it is working for build distribution and I will give you the source code

Detailed requirements:

- new UI. Note that you need to include modal when user profile is clicked for settings. (my current script runs with html and css, would like it to be react)

- the app has to work with one-click-install, no admin rights
- there are some fucntionality on the react ui part, adding steps, reordering, etc.
- you need to include electron updater / autoupdate. do not complicate by using squirrel / nuts, just simple github releases is sufficient. see (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oaza9tqCWXg)
- when each step is run, you will have to call a python function and pass the text as params. You do not need to write the python script / control APIs. I will do this
- your main task is to ensure the electron app can call python scripts

I expect it to be done in a couple hours, fairly straightforward. Note, I just want to test the idea, if all goes well, we can work together moving forward for a more integrated app.

Please say "apple" in your proposal so i know you have read it.
