Chrome Extension to play sound on page content change
Budget: $30 – $250 AUD
I need a Google Chrome extension that detects changes in a specific div on a webpage and plays a custom sound file.
For context, this is for a web-browser based phone system. Staff use USB headsets, and the web software doesn't allow splitting out audio, so where the ringing tone plays has to be the same as where the call audio (talking) happens. They have their headsets as the audio device, so if they aren't wearing their headset when a call comes in they don't hear it. The idea of this Chrome extension is to hook in on when a call is incoming and force a sound to play out the computer speakers.
Requirements:
- Detect text changes within a specified div.
- Play a custom sound file once when a change is detected.
- Allow selection of the audio device to play the sound out (and remember this choice). This must be able to be a different output audio device than the overall default for Chrome.
- The extension should only kick in on a given URL.
A proof of concept is acceptable... I can adapt it to suit the exact div change, and I can choose an appropriate sound file to play (mp3 or wav are both acceptable, so please support one of these).
