Chrome Extension Script for Mutation Monitoring
Budget: $10 – $30 AUD
I'm seeking a skilled developer to edit an existing Chrome extension script. The primary function of this extension is to monitor a specific webpage for mutations to a specific HTML element, and to extract text if a mutation occurs.
The existing extension already works. I need help troubleshooting and improving it.
Key Requirements:
- the extension works on page load, for example if you refresh the page.
- the extension does not work if the user clicks a link within the web page to load a new page, the extension does not "see" the mutation of the page.
- the HTML element mutates every second or so. the script currently captures text on every mutation. I only want to capture the text on the first mutation, then ignore all other mutations unless the URL changes.
Ideal Skills:
- Proficient in JavaScript, particularly in manipulating the Chrome extension API.
- Previous experience in developing similar Chrome extensions.
- Understanding of monitoring webpage mutations.
