Chrome Browser Extension

Develop a browser extension which enriches pages by pulling related data from a json api endpoint.

This is the first phase of a more involved project which will enrich pages using data from multiple different endpoints across multiple different sites.

____Budget____

Budget for this first phase maxes out at $800 USD. Overall project budget with enhancements is ~$3000.

____Process Behind Extension____

When the browser loads pages the extension works on:

1. When a user hovers over an image, determine the image's author's userID
2. POST to an existing api endpoint on the same site to fetch userID's profile details
3. Enrich the display of the site with stats obtained from the api endpoint
4. Results should be cached for configurable time period (start at 48 hrs)
5. Must maintain cookies to prevent blocking/deauth
6. Extension must be based on service workers and not background pages

____Recommended Milestone Schedule____

1. API INTEGRATION: Extension that fetches profile info on hover of image, displays output on screen (design not important)

2. LOCAL BROWSER CACHING: Extension that caches the data for a configurable time period

3. USER EXPERIENCE/DESIGN: Extension that displays the profile information per the mockup (as an overlay, in the image)
