We are looking for an experienced, US-based developer to build a custom browser extension for academic research. This extension will anonymously track user interactions on web pages—such as clicks, scrolls, and content visibility—and send the data to a server for storage and analysis. The goal is to study user behavior on Google Search, and all collected data will be used exclusively for academic research.
Key Features:
• Capturing webpage URLs, search queries, browsing history, click and scroll behaviors.
• Tracking visibility and interactions with specific content sections.
• Blocking selected webpage elements (e.g., AI Overview, Featured Snippets) via server-side configurations.
• Storing data in MongoDB or MySQL for large-scale analysis (up to 100,000 users).
• Providing a simple web interface for data visualization and export.
