Browser Extension Development
Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 USD
We are looking for an experienced developer to create a custom browser extension for academic research purposes. The extension will collect anonymous user interaction data on various webpage elements, such as clicks, scrolls, and content visibility, and send it to a Node.js server for storage and analysis. The goal of this project is to understand user behavior on web pages, and the data collected will only be used for academic purposes.
Key features include:
• Capturing webpage URLs, search queries, click and scroll behaviors.
• Tracking the visibility and interaction with specific content sections.
• Blocking selected webpage elements (e.g., AI Overview, Featured Snippets) based on server-side configuration.
• Sending data to a MongoDB or MySQL database for large-scale user analysis (up to 100,000 users).
• Providing a simple web interface for viewing and exporting the collected data.
We need someone who can ensure scalability and robustness, as the system will handle concurrent data uploads from thousands of users.
