Autorefresh browser extension for triggering and detecting content updates on a dynamic web page

I am looking for an experienced programmer who can write clean and efficient code to run as a firefox or chrome browser extension.
This extension is built on an automation process that will be employing code to trigger every few seconds a refresh action on a dynamic part of a specific website page, then read and scrape data from select elements on each update, in order to continually track and monitor these elements to check for any content changes, then trigger an alert and additional actions like focusing on tab or browser window, whenever a new change in content is detected.
There is already a fully functional version of this extension and workflow that can be consulted to serve as a development model to build upon or be fully redesigned, depending on how you want to go about modernizing the extension to it's new specifications.
