Ableton Live - Max for Live Device for Automatic Instrument Rack Loading Based on Clip Selection - javascript

Job ID: 38747848

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

Project Description:
I am looking for an experienced Max for Live developer to create a custom device for Ableton Live. The goal is to automatically load a specific instrument rack onto the track based on the session view clip’s row and column numbers. This project requires advanced knowledge of the Live Object Model and JavaScript within Max for Live. Here are the specifics:

Requirements:

Automatic Rack Loading: When a clip is selected in Ableton Live’s session view (even if it’s not yet played), the device should automatically load an instrument rack onto the track.
Rack Identification: The device should identify the correct instrument rack based on the clip’s row and column numbers. For example, if a clip is located in row 02 and column 03, the device should load an instrument rack with a filename starting with "02-03" (e.g., "02-03_myRackName").
Folder Setup: All instrument racks are pre-organized in a specific folder, allowing the device to locate and load the correct rack by matching the filename to the clip’s row and column position.
Simplicity and Efficiency: The device should be user-friendly and perform efficiently without interrupting Live’s normal workflow.
Preferred Skills:

Advanced experience with Max for Live and the Live Object Model (LOM)
Proficiency in JavaScript for Max for Live scripting
Familiarity with Ableton Live’s session view and instrument racks
Objective:
Deliver a functional Max for Live device that can be easily added to any Ableton Live set, automatically loading instrument racks based on clip selection position (row and column).

Timeline and Budget:
I am looking to complete this project as quickly as possible and am willing to allocate a reasonable budget to ensure a high-quality result. Please include your estimated timeline and rate in your proposal.
