APIs Integration for PX App

Job ID: 39373583

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

I’m building a mobile-first MVP web app called PX, which helps travelers scan or search for products in-store abroad and instantly compare prices to their home country. It’s designed as a price-checking tool for international shoppers. The front-end is already working using Lovable and currently displays mock product data.

I now need technical help to make the app functional by integrating two key features. First, I need barcode scanning integrated using a solution like zxing/browser or a suitable alternative that works reliably on mobile browsers. This should include a fallback option for manual input or image upload if scanning fails.

Second, I need a data pipeline that fetches live prices from retailers such as Amazon.com (USA), KSP.co.il, and Zap.co.il (Israel). You can use Apify or custom-built scrapers with Puppeteer or Playwright. The response should return structured product information including name, price, currency, timestamp, and the original link.

The project is web-first and mobile-optimized. Native app development is not required at this stage. Some light backend work may be helpful, such as setting up Supabase or Firebase to store saved user data, but the primary focus is on integrating barcode scanning and price retrieval to create a working MVP.

The ideal person for this job will have experience with API integration or web scraping, a good understanding of mobile-first web apps, and preferably some familiarity with barcode scanning and product comparison tools. I’m looking for someone who can help take the prototype from concept to working MVP using real data, with potential for further collaboration after this phase.
