Do you have time for a small project, a really basic java web app that will allow viewing and browsing books from a database (probably 1-4 java classes), just mostly meant to show the use of the technologies.
Has to be an Apache Derby database

Use JNDI
I will be using eclipse
No gui, just a basic search bar and a box with results
I have a lot of similar demo projects or code that you could base it off already.
