bash alias script

PLEASE NOTE: HERE IS THE task

These commands do not work in a script - something like this in bash would be a great test - can you help me with this?

set -x
alias getRecord='/usr/bin/java -classpath /Users/ej/Public/repos/tracking-db-client/d_jar/jtds-1.3.1.jar: getRecord'
alias insRecord='/usr/bin/java -classpath /Users/ej/Public/repos/tracking-db-client/d_jar/jtds-1.3.1.jar: insertRecord'
insRecord 55 TAXING_1.2.3.4 APACHE pvcsusr TAXING /VOL1 EJ
getRecord 55

Please note I have commands insRecord.java and getRecord.java and seems the errors suggest mysql needs update (already done)

ANY THOUGHTS ? Please note project is due in two hours as this projects deadline, as this is needed if we can get some done - then we can talk about next steps and 5 stars and another job also.
