PROJECT OVERVIEW
I have two existing VBA scripts designed to automate tasks on the Modernizing Medicine EMR website. One script scrapes specific data (procedure codes, diagnosis codes, modifiers, and units) from the website, while the other uploads PDF attachments to patient charts. Both scripts are functional but inconsistent, especially when dealing with dynamic content and varying table locations. I need an expert to review, refine, and ensure these scripts run reliably and consistently.
PRIMARY TASKS
1. Review and Refine Code:
- Examine the existing VBA scripts that scrape information from the Modernizing Medicine website and sort it into Excel.
- Review the script responsible for uploading PDF attachments to patient charts.
- Identify and fix inconsistencies and issues causing the scripts to fail or perform unreliably.
2. Ensure Consistency:
- Modify the scripts to handle dynamic content, including JavaScript-generated elements, and ensure they work correctly regardless of table location variations.
- Ensure the upload script consistently uploads PDFs from a specified location on the computer to the correct patient chart.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Script Details:
The scraping script must collect the following data from each record:
- Procedure code(s)
- Diagnosis code(s)
- Modifiers
- Units
- Both scripts should be made using Microsoft Excel VBA/Selenium Web Driver and delivered as .bas files.
- Real-time updates of the scraped data.
- Ability to handle dynamic and JavaScript-generated content.
2. Proposal Requirements:
- Submit a realistic proposal with your initial cost; no cost negotiations will be entertained after your initial proposal. This is a micro-project.
- The final program code must be delivered in full.

1. Screenshots of:
- Full screen and closeup of an encounter with one procedure and diagnosis without a modifier.
- Full screen and closeup of an encounter with one procedure with a modifier.
- Full screen and closeup of multiple procedures without modifiers.
- A video demo of uploading attachments to the Modernizing Medicine website.
- Code snippets of the current code (.bas file) used for scraping data and uploading attachments.
WORK CONDITIONS
Due to the sensitive nature of the data, all work must be performed via remote access (AnyDesk, TeamViewer, etc.) on my PC. This will be between 9 AM - 4 PM Eastern Standard Time.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Extensive experience with Excel VBA and web automation using Selenium WebDriver.
- Expertise in web scraping and handling dynamic content.
- Familiarity with EMR systems is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot code.
- Proactive and professional approach to ensuring the quality and consistency of the final product.
URGENCY
This project needs to be completed as soon as possible. Timely delivery is crucial.
