Ongoing freelance full stack Java Developer (Spring) - multiple projects

AllAboutGroup are a media company based in London.

Having started back in 2008, we now help over 2 million young people each year to make vital career decisions and find fantastic job opportunities. We do this through our careers advice and job websites for young people.

We are looking to build an ongoing relationship with a skilled and efficient freelance Java developer to help our in-house team deliver new products and product features each year.

We already have an in-house developer with expertise in Java and PHP, but we are looking to outsource the back-end development and integration for some projects to a team of freelancers, as we don't have sufficient resources in-house to handle the high workload.

We already outsource our front end development to several freelancers and have been doing this successfully for the past 8 years. We also work successfully with a team of freelancer Java developers and have delivered 6 projects with this team in the last 12 months. We would like to build a similar relationship with another Java developer too, as our product backlog still outweighs our resources!

We would be able to offer regular work to the right professional, with new projects becoming available each month.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of building complex web solutions using Java (Spring).

Skills required include:

- Extensive experience of object-oriented programming (OOP) and test-driven development (TDD)
- SQL;
- Experience with version control systems (GIT, SVN);
- Knows how to write HTML and CSS;
- Experience of working with Spring MVC
- Experience using jQuery;
- Experience creating responsive websites;
- Javascript OOP and Javascript TDD;
- Knows how to extend jQuery;
- Experience of using React;
- Knows how to write optimised queries and how to design a database schema;
- Good understanding of SEO and experience of resolving SEO-related issues from a technical perspective, e.g. image compression, reducing page duplication etc.
- Exemplary communication skills (written and spoken English)
