Netbeans & maven

Hi, I want to set up netbeans on my laptop, and use maven to download and build an application that relies on external libraries. Once I've done this, I want to do some simply java programming to ensure the environment is all set up etc and I know how to use it etc so I'll need some help doing this also.

There could be further work following this initial work.
