Modernize Minecraft Mod & Ara
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I’m reviving an old NeoForge-based Minecraft mod and want it fully ported to the current stable Minecraft release on Minecraft Forge. The original build compiles under NeoForge 1.19; I now need a clean Gradle project that builds and runs on the latest Forge version (please target the version that is current at the time you start).
Core feature to implement during the port
• Ara, an existing custom entity, must become tamable: when a player right-clicks while holding an Apple, Ara should take the Apple, from the player while the player is holding it.
Additional requested behaviour
• Once tamed, Ara follows its owner just like a wolf or cat, respecting Minecraft’s standard path-finding so it won’t constantly bump into walls or fall off cliffs.
What I will consider a successful delivery
1. Source code migrated to Forge MDK, compiling with gradlew build.
2. All textures, models, and localisation keys from the old mod intact.
4. No NeoForge remnants in code or build scripts; only Forge dependencies remain.
5. A brief README outlining build steps and any new config options.
I’ll test by importing the project into Minecraft building, and playing a new world: if Ara tames, follows me after tasking one Apple from the player, and no errors appear in the log, the job is done.
Java, Forge Modloade and familiarity with Minecraft’s entity and path-finding code will be essential.
