Location-Based Sensor Data Visualization in Grafana
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
We are seeking a freelancer with advanced Grafana skills to develop custom queries and dashboards. The goal is to display sensor data from InfluxDB and additional metadata from MariaDB, transforming sensor serial numbers into human-readable location identifiers based on city, building, floor, and position.
Data Sources:
InfluxDB:
Contains: date and time, sensor serial number, distance, temperature, etc.
MariaDB:
Contains: date and time installed, serial number, city, building name, floor, position.
The same serial number may be used one or more times, and the metadata is applicable based on date and time.
Requirements:
Data Integration and Transformation:
Merge data from InfluxDB and MariaDB based on the sensor serial number and date and time.
Replace sensor serial numbers with a combination of city, building, floor, and position.
Ensure the sensor metadata tracks installation times of the sensors.
Dashboard Configuration:
Create dashboards with multiple panels for different fields.
For each dashboard, provide filtering options to select:
City
Building within the city
Floor within the building (if no floor is selected, display all sensors on all floors)
Display sensor identifiers as “Building - Floor - Position” on the dashboard.
Panel Configuration:
Develop different panels on the same dashboard.
Ensure all panels filter based on the same selections (city, building, floor).
Data Summarization:
Create summarized data to enable quick viewing of a year's worth of data.
Current data is sampled either once per second or once per 10 seconds, making retrieval of data slow for periods longer than one month at a time.
Deliverables:
Grafana Dashboards:
Fully functional dashboard.
Panels displaying sensor data with human-readable identifiers.
Interactive filtering options for city, building, and floor.
Custom Queries:
Optimized queries to merge and transform data from InfluxDB and MariaDB.
Ensure efficient data retrieval and display within Grafana.
Documentation:
Detailed documentation of the queries used.
Instructions on how to add or modify dashboards and panels.
User guide on how to interact with the dashboards and filters.
Skills Required:
Advanced experience with Grafana.
Proficiency in writing complex queries for InfluxDB and MariaDB.
Strong understanding of database integration and data transformation.
Ability to create user-friendly and interactive dashboards.
Timeline:
2-3 weeks from acceptance of the quote.
Budget:
Please provide a detailed quote including hourly rate and estimated hours or a fixed project fee.
Fixed project fees will be favored.
Interested freelancers should submit:
A brief overview of relevant experience.
Examples of previous Grafana projects.
Proposed approach to this project.
Estimated timeline and cost.
