Help in adding public certificate to run Java code

I'am running Appium java test cases to fetch some api but the api doesn't accessible and return an error "javax.mail.MessangingException: Connect Failed; nested exception is: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: No appropriate protocol (protocol is disabled or cipher suites are inappropriate)"
