Flask Python Developer Needed -- 2
Budget: £250 – £750 GBP
I'm looking for a skilled Python developer with experience in web development using Flask, and image analysis focusing on object detection.
Requirements:
- Develop and maintain a web application using Flask.
- Implement an image analysis feature that focuses on object detection.
Ideal Skills:
- Proficient in Python programming.
- Experience with Flask web framework.
- Knowledge in image analysis, specifically object detection.
- Familiarity with relevant libraries and tools for both web development and image analysis.
Image edge detection web app
This project is create a web based mobile application which is designed to work on a smartphone. The app needs to take and upload a photo of a postage stamp and use image edge recognition to count the number of perforations on the postage stamp. We have built a basic test version, but the results are not yet accurate.
Requirement
You would first need to develop the edge detection settings so that the output results are accurate.
The user will be using a hand held phone to take the photo. Therefore consistent scale of the uploaded image needs to be considered. On our test version we have added two upload buttons. The first is so that you can upload an image of a stamp alongside a standard sized object (we have chosen a credit card) for scale. The second button is so you can upload a close up of the stamp so that the perforations around the edge are clear.
Our test example here uses Python in the backend so that it can use the CV Image processing library and other Python edge detection tools. However if you feel that this is not the best system, we are open to other ideas.
The app needs to count the number of perforations along the four edges of the stamp within a 2cm span. The results should look like:
Horizontal Perforations: 13.75 (Top) and 13.75 (Bottom)
Vertical Perforations: 13.25 (Left) and 13.25 (Right).
Note: Occasionally some stamps have no perforation along one side. These should be described as ‘imperf’ along that edge.
The results should be displayed under the image of the uploaded stamp. We would like the image and results to be stored for future use. The users will be logged in via a separate Wordpress website and we would like their user ID to be recorded with the stamp results so that we can later associate it with their account.
That's it. If it can achieve that accurately with different sized stamps, then that is all it has to do.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working on both web development and image processing, and has a good understanding of implementing and integrating various tools and technologies.
